This position is responsible for performing Medicare and Commercial billing duties in support of the facility’s accounting department.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

• Participates in daily PPS Meetings and AR Team meetings
• Notifies Admissions of changes in levels of care for daily census
• Reviews daily census reports for Medicare activity
• Generates CMS Liability Notices
• Performs data entry of ancillary charges and changes in RUGS levels for Medicare residents
• As a back up to Admissions, updates census and verifies benefits with Medicare, previous facilities and other insurances
• Generates required Medicare A and B, and Commercial claims on a monthly and as needed basis
• Posts Medicare and Private Pay payments to accounts
• Reviews Medicare A and B and Commercial aging reports on an ongoing basis; making necessary adjustments
• Adjusts claims utilizing the fiscal intermediary Direct Data Entry
• Makes cash deposits to bank
• Schedules and coordinates Triple Check meeting
• Ability to cross train on any Business Office function
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Certification/Experience:

Associates degree in Accounting or related field. Two years billing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
