The Operations & Technology Chief Operating Office (O&T COO) – Risk Management Technology (RMT) organization drives execution of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, KPMG SOC 1/ SOX Engagements and compliance with various Risk Management / Compliance Policies in partnership with O&T Technology Control Product Leads. 

Job Description

The Technology Controls lead - Risk Identification is a strategic professional who closely follows latest Emerging Technology trends to identify inherent Technology and Cyber Risks. A candidate in this position will provide strong leadership and execute on strategy for successful Risk identification which will lead to continuous control improvement across the organization. This position will work closely with multiple technology and control partners to manage key controls and deficiency remediation. This position will deliver timely senior management reporting to ensure effective communication, risk awareness and results tracking for all risk management initiatives. 

Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative Technology risk advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Business in key policy adherence and monitoring.
  • Keep Management aware of the risk and control environment of the Business through continuous and open communication, by preparing and supporting the due diligence for Senior Management on Business Risk meetings with Senior Management and follow-ups on issues, concerns and corrective action plans.
  • Supports the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses or near misses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Independently asses' risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses or near-misses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Governance and oversight may include (not limited to) technology operational risk, cyber risk for example.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for all Emerging Risks that surface.
  • Appropriately assess risk when technology and / or business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Resolves transactional level escalations coming from internal partners.
  • Analyzes a multitude of scorecards/performance management tools in an attempt to mitigate exposure (Strategic, Operational, Compliance and Reputation)
  • Collaborates to resolve any issues.
  • Develops and maintains relationships across the internal partners and Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver risk reduction solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years relevant experience
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills through all levels of the organization and with external partners and vendors. Exceptional relationship management skills; must be able to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships. In depth knowledge of Clouds, Artificial Intelligence. processes and technology platforms supporting the operations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad audience including Senior MD's and Directors
  • Detailed oriented with analytical skills, as the role requires a large amount of data interpretation and presentation.
  • Technology and / or Cyber risk management experience preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$144,480.00 - $216,720.00
