Fixed Income Trade Processing Services Overview

Citi is the market maker and a global leader in all major Fixed Income markets in across the globe. Fixed Income trade capture platform is Citi’s primary Fixed Income trading platform processing Derivatives, Cash and Exotics products with 2000 Trading, Sales, Middle Office users globally. The platform, built on state of the art API and cloud based technology stack processes around 200,000 transactions daily and provides real time position , risk management capabilities. It has connectivity to 60 electronic trading venues and 20 regulatory bodies globally.

The Fixed Income Trade Processing team is a dynamic and high-performing division of Citi’s Markets technology.

Role Description

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

This role is a senior technical hands-on leadership level position heading the NAM team. This position reports directly into the global head of Fixed Income Trade Processing Technology organization.

The successful candidate would head a delivery focused engineering team and lead the efforts to complete the transition of our application to micro services while delivering to critical business and regulatory asks. The role will have responsibility for supporting the technology needs of the global business across various delivery functions – development, QA and BA

Job Responsibilities:

• Working directly with Front office Trading and Sales, to understand and enable delivery to key priorities for Rates and GSP businesses
• Overseeing delivery of sub-teams focused on delivering to critical regulatory mandates,
• Partnering with global development, QA and support teams for effective delivery to initiatives
• Utilizing creativity and innovation to improve the technical capabilities of the platform and ensuring it remains stable, flexible and maintainable.
• Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
• Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
• Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of major Fixed Income Products (e.g. Bonds/Swaps/Futures) and Broker/Customer Markets electronic trading flows.
• Deep understanding of regulatory environment governing broker dealer. Good understanding of regulatory obligations to global regulatory bodies including but not limited to SEC, CFTC, FINRA, OCC
• 15 years of experience in an Engineering role with extensive experience in software delivery as well as test automation. Full stack Java development required
• Proven leadership and team management skills and experience (7 years)
• Proven ability to face off to business stakeholders in frequent and professional manner (traders, sales, MO, desk-heads)
• Strong track record of timely and disciplined project delivery
• Demonstrated ability to attract, retain and promote talent within team
• A solid architectural understanding of enterprise applications
• Experience with modern software development practices such as Agile development, test-driven development, and continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Understanding of computing science fundamentals – concurrency, algorithms, data structures, design patterns, etc.
• Desirable - Experience developing large financial software trading systems with substantial hands-on development experience
