Sales Specialist – Blue Man Group

Full-Time Position

We are looking for a Sales Specialist to join the Sales team supporting all Blue Man Group segments. The Sales Specialist will be responsible for generating revenue, by executing Sales initiatives for all segments of the business which include Groups, In-Market, Leisure and Travel/Trade for our Blue Man Group productions in Chicago & New York. This position requires a flexible schedule and ability to work nights, weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and follow up with different business contacts, and should have a team player mindset.

The Sales Specialist will have the opportunity to:

- Ensure that Blue Man Group (BMG) values and artistic standards are understood and supported across the organization;

- Consistently meet and/or exceed monthly, quarterly, and/or annual sales revenue goal;

- Establish and maintain relationships with hotels, associations, organizations, and sales partners;

- Organize and execute an outbound sales strategy with guidance from the Senior Sales Manager while soliciting and securing all sales bookings on behalf of Blue Man Group;

- Responsible for handling all incoming calls and online leads from outside sales clients and new prospective clients, along with making outbound calls to new leads with the goal of securing new business;

- Be able to answer inbound calls/emails from existing;

- Manage the servicing of clients (contracts, payments, front of house logistics, etc.);

- Execute the set-up for partners within any sales segments directed by Senior Sales Manager;

- Participate in the development of sales and promotional tools (collateral, presentations, packages, etc.);

- Manage promotional, incentive and awareness programs with key influencers and sellers;

- Increase customer service and brand awareness through meetings, promotions and presentations;

- Conduct ongoing sales calls/visits, organizing familiarization tours and facilitate complimentary invites;

- Represent at relevant conventions and trade shows as assigned by Senior Sales Manager, to promote sales to delegates and generate potential leads;

- Attend industry networking events to familiarize with colleagues/key people in tourism industry;

- Maintain up-to-date files and account databases including sales histories, profile data, contracts and any other partner related communications through Salesforce;

- Prepare monthly sales analysis reports;

- Complete other job-related duties as assigned.

What does it take for this role? The following hard skills are the basics of what’s needed to be successful in this position:

- At least three years of previous experience working in Group Sales management in a similar environment;

- At least one year of previous experience working in a Hotel, Convention, Student Group or Entertainment Sales environment;

- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

- Strong understanding and previous experience working with Salesforce and/or Ticketmaster;

- Proven success meeting established deadlines;

- Previous experience working in a multicultural environment;

- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing/Sales, Business or a related field is preferred;

- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;

- Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization;

** The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 USD/year. Where one would fall in the range is dependent on skillset. **
