Electrics/Lighting Sub - Astor Place Theatre - New York
Part-Time
Blue Man Group New York production at Astor Place Theatre, NY seeks a part-time Electrics/Lighting crew member.
Candidates for this position should have a strong working knowledge of lighting equipment and be able to troubleshoot, identify and repair problems related to the running of the show and maintenance of lighting and show-specific technologies. ETC ION console experience is a plus. Experience and/or interest in electrical systems is a plus. Applicants should have a flexible schedule and be willing to communicate with the Electrics/Video Supervisor about scheduling shows.
Responsibilities include: performing preset duties; executing show cues as well as turnover & post show duties in a safe, professional and timely manner; maintenance calls with the Electrics/Video Supervisor as needed. Electricians are also responsible for clear communication of show notes amongst the Stage Manager and Production Stage Manager.
This is a part-time, hourly position, and candidates must have regular weekend availability. Part-Time crew members must be flexible and available for shows during nights, weekends, and the holiday and spring break seasons. The hourly rate for this position is $26. There will also be occasional need for weekday maintenance calls as needed. All employees are encouraged to attend full company meetings.
