Title: Batching Pre-Weigher
Manager: Director of Operations
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $17.00
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Overview:
Under general supervision, Pre-Weighers are responsible for transferring material from one container to another using appropriate equipment and processes. This position is required to comply with departmental safety requirements, contribute to the quality improvement process and interface and communicate within the department.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
· Check the accuracy of scales being used with the registered weight daily, and record in the Daily Scale Calibration Log.
· Ensure batches are pre-weighed at least one day prior to the scheduled compounding date. The necessary information can be found on the Weekly Batching Schedule.
· Locate batch cards to be pre-weighed in the file identified “To Pre-Weigh.”
· Confirm all information on the material to-be-weighed matches the “trial kit” and the batch card.
· Check the customer material codes, make sure that the expiration date is not exceeded, RM Numbers are correct, and locations for pulling are marked.
· Follow all guidelines before weighing any materials.
· Clean all container lids prior to use.
· Affix labels to all weighed product with the identification number, RM Number, amount of material (weight), and identify how many containers per batch.
· Post each material individually on the Manufacturing Batch Records Worksheet and place initials beside it.
· Utilize the RM Number using FIFO system.
· Weigh all materials and have a QC witness sign all active materials, noted with an Asterix (*).
· Wrap all skids pre-weighed and locate them in the pre-weigh area until batch is ready to be made.
· Adhere to safety and compliance protocols and regulations when handling and storing materials.
· Ensure compliance with government regulations related to storage, purchasing, and inventory management.
· Provide support and guidance to colleagues regarding inventory and purchasing matters.
· Bring completed and signed off paperwork to the manager for any job issues; Notify management if any problems arise, such as batches not in the proper file.
· Additional job duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D minimum
Proven experience in a manufacturing setting.
Basic math skills
Ability to comprehend and carry out reasonable instructions from the Manager/Supervisor pertaining mainly, but not limited to training issues. When performing this job, this position summarizes and/or condenses information.
Housekeeping in the pre-weigh area daily.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with safety regulations and inventory control best practices.
Proficiency in using MS Office applications.
Knowledge of FDA, GMP’s, HACCP, OSHA, etc. is a plus.
Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and improve each operation.
Ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as hair net, earplugs, beard net (if applicable), protective gloves, safety harness, safety glasses and slip resistant work shoes/boots. Personal protective equipment, as defined by Cirona Labs, will be provided.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures (hot and cold), humidity, darkness, and noise.
Position requires the ability to stand; sit at a desk; walk around facility; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting.
Ability to see, hear, and communicate by utilizing professional etiquette with all levels of employees and with external vendors.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand basic math percentages and formulas
High stress tolerance, adaptable, ability to work in an ever-changing environment, flexible
Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time
Ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must have reliable transportation.
