Full Time Assistant Teacher - NAEYC Accredited Preschool (Infants - PreK)

At The Child Development Center, we are searching for loving, energetic, creative, and dedicated assistant teachers to join our team! We are a NAEYC accredited and a 4 Star Texas Rising Star preschool located in Southwest Austin. As an established non-profit preschool, our primary focus is on children, families, and staff. We serve children infants - Pre-K. 

We are currently looking for assistant teachers who can assist and support all classrooms in a floating capacity.

This is a great starting position for someone looking to build more experience in early childhood education.

Position will start ASAP. This is a year round position.

Duties Include:

• Collaborating with Lead Teacher to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum that follows the standards for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Texas Rising Star
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher regarding assessments, classroom materials, and specific child skill development
• Supporting children’s learning by implementing the lesson plan
• Communicating with families both verbally and in writing
• Building positive relationships with parents and coworkers
• Serve as positive role model for all the children
• Encourage language development through developmentally appropriate activities, songs, questions, books, and other means
• Active engagement with students and participation in classroom activities at all times
• Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment conducive to play-based learning

Qualifications:

• Required ~ High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred ~ Associates or CDA
• Candidates must meet all Texas DFPS requirements and must pass a background check
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds
• Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time 
• General computer proficiency
