CINFAB, LLC - (Grote Enterprises) Construction-HVAC Sheet Metal is Hiring an Assistant Project Manager - Construction Near Columbus, OH

Construction Engineer

This position has been created due to company growth and will be groomed for progression by the CINFAB Columbus Site Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts. To be successful, this candidate should feel comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills, and appropriately prioritizing those tasks' completion.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend meetings and work with Project Manager (PM) in set-up of project information
  • Ensure contracts and change orders executed.
  • Maintain submittal tracking system.
  • Review the Coordination Schedule with the PM and the Manager of Engineering and the customer. Attend the initial coordination meetings until everything is running smoothly.
  • Provide all equipment submittals to the coordination department.
  • Assist PM to Develop the Construction Schedule and sequence (reverse phase schedules)
  • Obtain local licensing and permits.
  • Track and manage all project specific documentation to ensure proper distribution and implementation.
  • Discuss status of changes in weekly Project Review Meeting.
  • Take meeting minutes at weekly job-site meeting and distribute.
  • Assist in organizing and leading meetings to discuss the specific project plan. Discussion topics should include schedule, material & equipment delivery, logistics, manpower, changes, documentation and specific project issues.
  • Work with site superintendents to manage site processes
  • Assist Field Foreman to enter payroll and POs into ComputerEase.
  • Assist Field Foreman in use of Excel and Word programs.
  • Maintain on-site job files.
  • Assist Field Forman in ordering material and supplies.
  • Track tools and equipment.
  • Update Project Manpower Projections weekly, report negative variances and appropriate action
  • Assist PM with preparation and presentation of an accurate Cost To Complete to the Controller and Company President
  • Maintain a positive customer relationship throughout each assigned project. Request assistance with confrontational issues from PM.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 1 - 3 years of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer or project manager
  • Strong experience in AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Candidates must have moderate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Work environment is construction job sites. Standard job site PPE is required and provided.
