When you join CIMA , we welcome you to a place that you can call home.Job DescriptionMissionAs a Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer or Engineer-In-Training (EIT), you will be able to participate in the design of high-level diagrams, the development of the protection philosophy and contribute to large-scale electrical energy projects. You will evolve in a multidisciplinary environment and develop skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on substation, hydroelectric power stations and renewable energy projects with numerous clients across Canada. This is a hybrid role that can be based out of one our offices in British Columbia (Vancouver, Kelowna, or Rossland).Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign Control and Protection systems with 2D software (AutoCAD)Prepare project deliverables, including detail drawings, electrical diagrams, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.Collaborate with members of the engineering team as well as project managers from other disciplinesPrepare plans, drawings and calculations based on specifications providedParticipate in the development of electrical Command and Protection systems, including single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, three-line AC diagrams, protection and c.c. control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connection drawings, assembly plans, material lists and quotes for the manufacturing and installation on site of Control and Protection panelsParticipate in the development of AC and DC power systems, including single-line diagrams, AC & DC load calculations, AC & DC distribution diagrams, connection drawings of chargers, batteries, inverter, etc.Participate in site surveys (stations and power stations)Coordinate with engineering disciplines: equipment, civil, mechanical and building in order to develop design solutions for optimized and advanced substation and power plant systemsPossibility of carrying out site work sporadically when the opportunity arises (start-up or monitoring)QualificationsUniversity Degree in Electrical engineeringRegistered (or eligible to register as) member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EBGC) or that of a recognized Professional Engineering Association in CanadaMore than 2 years of relevant experienceKnowledge of protection and control principles and philosophies is an assetWork experience in the design of electrical systems is an assetExperience in detailed P&C design with major and/or local utilities in Canada, an assetExperience using AutoCAD software is an assetFluent in English (oral and written)Basic knowledge of the office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)Autonomous, resourceful, and enjoys teamworkThe expected salary for this position is from $57,760.00 to $97,300.00 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity.
