Position Overview:

As a DevOps Engineer Specialist in OS Optimization, you will play a crucial role in analyzing our on-premises environment, identifying operating system (OS) obsolescence and gaps, and devising strategies to optimize our systems for maximum efficiency. Your primary responsibility will be to map the upgrades needed and plan a seamless migration to the Azure cloud platform. The majority of the OS in our environment is Linux Red Hat, so expertise in this area is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze the current on-premises environment to identify OS obsolescence, vulnerabilities, and performance gaps.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of our Linux Red Hat OS infrastructure, including dependencies and configurations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define objectives for OS optimization and cloud migration.

Design and implement strategies for upgrading and optimizing OS systems to enhance performance, security, and scalability.

Utilize automation tools and scripts to streamline OS optimization processes and ensure consistency across environments.

Plan and execute a phased migration of Linux Red Hat OS workloads to the Azure cloud platform, adhering to best practices and minimizing downtime.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux Red Hat OS systems in both on-premises and cloud environments to maintain high availability and performance.

Provide guidance and support to other team members on OS optimization techniques, best practices, and cloud migration strategies.

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and OS optimization.

Qualifications:

- Experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong track record of successfully migrating complex infrastructure projects.

- Expertise in Linux Red Hat OS.

- Advanced English: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills are essential, as this role requires collaboration with global teams and documentation of the migration process.

- Automation Tools: Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

- Security: Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments, including network configuration, access controls, and encryption.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical challenges.

Team Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor junior members of the team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
