Chuy's is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Austin, TX

The Payroll Specialist reports to the Payroll Director. This position is responsible for the processing of payroll for multi-state employees. The role is a full-time position and hybrid office work environment with a possibility of weekend coverage when necessary.

Specific job Responsibilities:
• Bi-weekly processing of payroll files for multi-states including tipped employees
• Processing new hires, rehires, terminations and pay rate changes
• Reconcile and audit payroll for accuracy
• Daily funding of payroll tips
• Prepare journal entries for accounting
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Answer manager and employee payroll questions
• Special Projects as needed

• 2-4 years’ experience in Payroll
• Experience using ADP Vantage, Workday or equivalent payroll systems
• High volume, multi-state experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Keen sense of urgency and deadline oriented

Required Skills and Qualities:

• Work product must be high quality, accurate and timely
• Possess the verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and all levels of management.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, strong time management and organizational skills to manage tasks, projects, and prescribed duties.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team, to complete prescribed duties and assignments
• ADP Vantage and ADP Reporting, a plus
• Working knowledge of multi-state payroll taxes, a plus
• Knowledge of wage garnishments, a plus
• Experience with restaurant payroll, a plus
• Bilingual, a plus
