POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chemical Operator operates equipment or semiautomatic system that processes chemical substances into specified products. Weighs or measures quantities of solid and powdered materials into heating vessels or blending tanks and feeds liquid and gaseous materials through equipment units. Maintains system at specified temperature, pressure, and vacuum levels. Move control settings to make necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of chemical reactions, quality, and yields. Observes chemical reactions; monitors gauges, signals, and recorders; and receives notification from control laboratory, supervisor, or other workers to make specified operating adjustments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and implement initiatives to improve quality, cleanliness, safety, and productivity, and to reduce cost
· Knowledge of specific area of operating equipment through on the job training
· All other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· High School diploma or GED
· 1-3 years of similar operator related experience (preferred)
· Certified to drive forklift required (or ability to certify within 90 days)
· ERP experience (preferred) Knowledge & Skills
· Capable of working independently to manage day-to-day tasks
· Familiarity with an ERP solution (i.e. SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, etc.)
· Creativity in approaching complex challenges and problems
· Ability to lift 50 pounds

· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; written and oral communication
