JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: CASHIER

Reports to: Pharmacist, Lead Technician

INDIVIDUALS SUPERVISED: 0

COMPENSATON: Salary commensurate with experience, 401k, medical, personal/sick time, paid vacation (FT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The cashier is responsible with providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of Christians Pharmacy, the state’s professional standards, and other regulatory entities; works under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaboratively works with other pharmacy personnel in a correct and timely fashion.
• Employee provides cheerful, prompt, and courteous customer service.
• Answers the telephone.
• Perform cashier functions for payment received for medications and sundry items purchased:
• Opens, closes, and counts down registers daily – is responsible for correct cash count downs.
• Closes out delivery sales every evening by scanning in the sales receipts received from the delivery drivers.
• Set up deliveries:
• Sets up the delivery schedule for the drivers.
• Keeps track of the delivery log and deliveries.
• Calls patient daily to setup time for delivery and collect credit card payments.
• Keeps the drivers and patients notified of changes in the delivery schedule daily.
• Will call management – (Taking bagged prescriptions from Pharmacist when completed)
• Once prescriptions are completed and bagged, move them to the Will Call hanging area.
• Place Prescription in a clear bag and hang in alphabetical order for patient pick up.
• Calls patients to pick up medications per policy.
• Calls on weekends worked for prescriptions that have not been picked up.
• Front end management:
• Keep track of inventory for over-the-counter (OTC) sundries and medication needed to maintain upfront store operations.
• Place orders for OTCs, sundries, and medication- Must be approved prior to ordering.
• Stock the shelfs once orders are received.
• Maintain upfront in a clean manner:
• Vacuum and dust the front daily.
• Clean registers and counter area weekly.
• Clean Windows monthly or as needed.
• Maintains current registration/ license as required by the State of Georgia.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma and/or GED required
• Strong math skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment under stressful conditions and time constraints
• Exhibit punctuality and low absenteeism

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Majority of time is spent in cashier area
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift packages, not to exceed 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
