Christian County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Patrol Sergeant. The Patrol Sergeant is responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to: patrolling in a radio-equipped vehicle to preserve law and order by discovering/preventing the commission of crimes and enforcing Federal, State and County ordinances; responds to calls of service, report writing, on scene investigations as well as follow up incidents. Many other duties are required as directed by the commander of the division. The Patrol Sergeant supervises activities in the Patrol Division during an assigned shift, including assigning staff, reviewing reports, and resolving day-to-day operational problems and questions arising from staff and the public; review reports, complaints, affidavits, and other related documents to ensure accuracy and completeness; performs the duties of subordinate staff when necessary for effective Division operation. Trains subordinate deputies in various Sheriff’s Office policies, procedures, and techniques, to maintain/improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and professionalism of the Christian County Sheriff's Office; prepares records of shift activity and communicates shift information to supervisor of next shift; evaluates performance of assigned staff; prepares reports regarding activities and incidents for command staff review. Translates Division goals into shift goals. Evaluates each member of the shift for their role in completing the goals of the shift and the Division.
Requirements:
This position must be able to pass a criminal background check, a drug test (and will be subject to random drug testing).
