Christian County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Corrections Officer. We are looking for community-oriented individuals that are motivated, professional, and courteous. The correctional officer is primarily responsible for providing the safety, security, supervision and care of all inmates in custody of the detention facility. Officers will monitor the activity of all visitors and employees on the premises to ensure the safety and welfare of everyone is adequately maintained.
Education:
Corrections Officers supervise inmates from diverse backgrounds and groups. They must have the ability to think and act quickly in medical, fire and other emergency situations; learn, understand and interpret laws and regulations as they relate directly to the detention function; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the course of work; and learn, demonstrate and apply various self-defense techniques. Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation and drug screen (and will be subject to random drug testing).
