A typical day for a CMA includes:
· Assisting in maintaining the physical, social, and psychological environment that is conductive to the best interest and welfare of the residents
· Exercising independent judgement and discretion in the performance of personnel tasks with the understanding that the responsibilities are not routine or limited to resident care matters
· Maintaining a clean, safe environment in the community by delegating job responsibilities. Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room
· Administering or assisting with self-administration of medication and treatments. Observing resident’s responses to existing treatment plans, being aware of prominent medication interactions and side effects, and observing residents for occurrences of such and notifying Supervisor
· Maintaining Resident’s records daily in a timely manner
· Completing an accurate accounting of all medications, including controlled substances as per policy
CMA Requirements:
· Valid State License/Certification
· Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
· Reliable transportation
· Currently considering full-time availability
