The Direct Support Staff is responsible to assist in providing support to youth in a placement setting to promote intellectual, behavioral, emotional, and social growth. The primary duty of the support staff position is to ensure safety, effective supervision, and engagement of youth during high traffic times.
Required Attributes: At least 21 years of age . High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and furnish proof of same. Valid Pennsylvania's Driver's license. Individual must be insurable by Christ's Home insurance carrier. Must have clean Child Abuse Clearance and Criminal History and furnish proof of same. Must be free of communicable disease and have Physician signed certificate of the same. Must be able to meet the physical demands of working with children. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions that include: the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop kneel crouch or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position is hourly and Full-time. And requires a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and occasional holidays. Schedule is determined by area of greatest need.
