Purpose of this position:

Assist families cope effectively with family members who are experiencing a serious mental health disorder. Assist family members with understanding the recovery process and promote resiliency and perseverance during the recovery journey.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

• Must be willing to share personal lived experience on raising/supporting your family through their recovery process
• Act as a Mentor to Family Peers; Navigate Family Support Group
• Work within a team concept
• Provide outreach services to families when they are experiencing a crisis and engage them with the support and services they need
• Must be willing to travel throughout Luzern/Wyoming Counties
• Providing Psychoeducation on Psychosis

Qualifications:

• Have raised a child with psychosis/serious mental health condition and have navigated child through mental health services/community resources 
• Must be willing to share with families how you coped and strategies in managing your child’s mental health condition.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED
• Complete required training and certifications

Must pass Safe Crisis Management Training (physical and theory), upon hire and then annually as a condition of employment. Other requirements include:

• Driver’s License 
• FBI Act 73
• Criminal history
• Act 33 clearances
