General Summary
The Crisis Psychologist is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who will provide response, rapid stabilization and prevention for patients in crisis in an innovative interdisciplinary setting. Direct psychological services include evidence-based assessment and short-term treatment of patients in crisis presentations and transitioning of patients to appropriate levels of care within the community. Indirect patient care includes interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatry, social work, case management and pediatrics/emergency department, and any other sub-specialties as appropriate; training and clinical supervision of therapists working with the program will also be involved. Faculty appointment at Eastern Virginia Medical School is available for qualified individuals. Opportunities to conduct research are open to discussion. Reports to Director of Psychology.
