It’s an exciting time at the Children’s Museum of Richmond! CMoR is seeking to grow its Development team with a driven, detail-oriented fundraising professional to assist with managing its major capital campaign. The Campaign Manager will play an important role in the next phase of growth for CMoR by helping CMoR grow its fundraising capacity by managing the day-to-day operations of the campaign. After the campaign concludes, this position will transition into a development role, assisting CMoR with sustaining and growing its fundraising capacity and building meaningful relationships with donors and prospects.
This position will report directly to the Director of Development and Marketing and works closely with CMoR’s staff and volunteer leadership.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee execution of a successful campaign effort, alongside fundraising consultants, staff leadership and volunteers.
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of prospective individual, corporate, and foundation donors, and conduct prospect research when necessary.
· Support the activities and needs of campaign volunteers.
· Develop campaign progress reports for staff and volunteers.
· Organize Campaign Leadership Committee meetings including scheduling, attending, and capturing and distributing action items.
· Organize campaign cultivation and stewardship events.
· Prepare prospect activity reports for staff and volunteers.
· Organize and implement administrative support systems for the campaign, including setting appointments, organizing cultivation activities and donor solicitations.
· Ensure campaign activity is maintained in the development database, Blackbaud Altru, so the activity is managed and reported.
· Coordinate and prepare donor and prospect thank you letters.
· Ensure timely dissemination of gift receipts and pledge invoices.
· Support staff leadership with all campaign and ongoing fundraising needs and other duties as assigned.

Candidates should have a demonstrable passion for the mission and work of the Museum and a strong desire to make a difference in their community. Successful candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and use professionalism and discretion in managing confidential donor and prospect information. Candidates should have excellent problem solving abilities and be able to take initiative to work independently or as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
Skills and Abilities:
Successful candidates will have at least two years of development experience. Candidates should be detail-oriented with strong project management skills and have a working knowledge of donor management software.
Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of relevant fundraising principles, practices, and techniques
Candidates should have a valid unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check. This position requires sitting, walking, standing, and lifting up to thirty pounds. Occasional night or weekend hours may be required.
