This is a Full-Time (37.5 hours), Non-Exempt Position

Under the supervision of Children’s Home Society of California’s (CHS) Program Relations Department Manager, the PRD Program Specialist will:

  • Provide case management to eligible child care providers
  • Promote high quality standards and support for child care providers, monitor quality assurance, and ensure contract compliance
  • Provide technical assistance and resources to child care providers
  • Coordinate and conduct child care provider participation orientations
  • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal contract requirements and program policies
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, as well as applicable contractual and governmental regulations
  • Maintain all records in a high-quality manner and within record protection, retention, and destruction guidelines
  • Work some evening and weekend hours, as needed, to support programming for clients services
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or Human Development field desired or Associates Degree plus three (3) years of experience required
  • Prior non-profit experience preferred
  • Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 22 desired
  • Knowledge of local community resources and experience representing an organization in a professional capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of clients from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervision abilities required
  • Excellent project management, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to research and troubleshoot
  • Excellent computer skills and data entry experience required
  • Ability to prepare and present effective written work, provide strong attention to detail, and produce error-free work
  • Proactive professional with a strong work ethic and an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and be fully accessible during work hours, regardless of work location
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shift quickly between assignments with a flexible and positive attitude while meeting deadlines
  • Proven ability to establish a rapport with parents, providers, and community organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Commitment to CHS’s core mission and values, and an ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and transparently with all levels of staff
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish or Vietnamese preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Automobile, valid driver’s license, good driving record, and automobile insurance
  • Ability to travel via air and surface transportation, including travel between multiple offices

SALARY SCALE:

Entry level pay for this position is $21.60 per hour; the full pay scale is $21.60 to $25.25. Advancement on pay scale is based on qualifications, such as experience and education, and eventual job performance. Excellent benefits are provided including 100% employer paid medical, dental, and vision premium coverage for eligible employees and their eligible dependents and 10% pension plan contribution for eligible employees.
