Children's Home of Stockton is Hiring a Receptionist Near Stockton, CA

Pay: $18.00- $21 Per hour

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. An AA degree (or higher) is preferred Experience with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in general office procedures and knowledge of acceptable office decorum.
  • Above average knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and articulation and knowledge of and ability to work with simple accounting procedures.
  • Communication/Language: Must demonstrate skills in communicating and positively relating to students, fellow employees, interns, contractors, and business contacts. Must possess advanced ability to read, write and understand English equivalent to a college level.
  • Computer Skills: Must have strong knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook. Specific skills in software systems as required by position, such as KaleidaCare.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the cultures represented in San Joaquin County.
  • Reliable transportation, valid California Driver’s License, proof of insurance, a DMV driving record printout with no more than two (2) minor violations, and use own car for travel.
  • Ability to lift supplies up to 25 lbs. to waist height.
  • Fingerprint clearance required.
  • Must pass a physical examination to demonstrate physical, mental and occupational competence to perform assigned tasks under guidance, supervision and direction of the supervisory staff.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be a person who exercises good judgment and is emotionally mature, patient, flexible and calm with good communication skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow the Trauma Informed Care philosophy when supporting and addressing the needs of the children and families served by CHS.
  • Receive and place incoming and outgoing calls efficiently and professionally via a multi-line telephone console. Make appropriate connections and, when appropriate, take and route complete, accurate messages.
  • Greet and assist all visitors and staff in a helpful, professional, and courteous manner. Assist visitors and staff with locating people, forms, use of office equipment, etc.
  • Accept donations with appreciation, and complete donation slips or other required documentation. Contact Cottage Manager(s) for distribution of donated items.
  • Maintain and keep current reservation calendars for meeting rooms.
  • Maintain front office in a professional, neat, organized and clean manner.
  • Consistently arrive at work with enough time to open Reception, turn on office equipment, and be ready to begin work at 8:00am. Must be able to adjust work schedule occasionally to meet CHS’ needs.
  • Notify CEO when mail arrives and follow mail protocol; process special mailing requirements when requested.
  • Work cooperatively with staff from all programs.
  • Attend staff and other meetings as required;
  • Must have an attitude of friendliness and be able to communicate with all levels within Children’s Home of Stockton;
  • Must be reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work;
  • Other duties as assigned.
