Child Family Resources is Hiring a Youth Prevention Facilitator (FT) Near Tucson, AZ

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Facilitator position includes leading interactive learning, following evidence-based curricula to fidelity (virtually and/or in-person), recruiting, completing assessments and reports. The facilitator will create and maintain partnerships with local organizations/schools in order to implement programming in the schools and community. This program facilitates Guy Talk sexual health education curricula for male-identified youth ages 14-17 in high schools and/or community sites. Facilitator will facilitate workshop groups in school districts during in-school and/or after-school hours setting. Duties include preparing the room, leading a group for 1-2 hours of interactive learning, and completing all reporting needed after each session. Facilitator will support the Program in recruitment and outreach efforts. Facilitator will also work with Peer Educator and co-facilitate Guy Talk curricula with them as needed.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Facilitates sexual health classes utilizing an evidence-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on program fidelity.
  • Provide medically accurate, age-appropriate, culturally and linguistically appropriate and trauma-informed responses to reproductive health questions as they arise
  • Creates a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment for both youth and adults while using a trauma-informed approach. 
  • Responsible for planning, promoting, and directing a schedule of activities for weekly sessions.
  • Maintains the safety and discipline of the participants during the program.
  • Provides accurate and age-appropriate responses to participant questions.
  • Prepares meeting room for the session and restores room at the conclusion of the session
  • Offer participants the opportunity to ask questions during breaks and after sessions.
  • Completes necessary reporting in a timely manner
  • Reports problems to Program Supervisor and proposes recommendations
  • Supports Program in recruitment and outreach efforts. 
  • Attend staff meetings as required
  • Documents incidents and makes referrals as needed
  • Attend annual training on curricula, fidelity, data collection, trauma-informed care and inclusion.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities
  • Contribute creatively to the program by sharing best practices and successful approaches discovered in the course of your work
  • Assist the Program Supervisor as needed, particularly with maintaining relationships with local sites
  • Other duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of sexual health, trauma-informed approaches, positive youth development, youth-friendly referrals, classroom management, LGBTQ Inclusivity, Mandatory Reporting, and other components critical to providing a safe and supportive environment for youth. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Sensitive to cultural diversity issues, including age, ethnicity, and lifestyle.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
  • Experience presenting on a virtual platform preferred
  • Excellent communication and writing skills. 
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask. 
  • Location: must be able to provide direct service to participants within programming areas.
  • Maintain a functional and safe home working space with adequate internet connection for the job.
  • Comply with all agency and program policies and procedures including confidentiality, employee conduct, computer usage and dress code.
  • Meet program/department’s performance and productivity standards.
  • Attend required agency and program/department meetings.
  • Adhere to the schedule agreed upon with the supervisor.
  • Follow and model CFR’s core values.
  • Participate in PQI initiatives.
  • Must be eligible and able to obtain a Level one fingerprint card.
  • Must be certified in CFR/First Aid

  • Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license, vehicle and meet agency liability insurance requirements. humanresources@cfraz.org.
ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sitting for extended periods of time daily; standing and walking short distances.
  • Moderate twisting, bending, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines as referenced.
  •  Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are required.
  • Repeated hand-wrist movement is required.
