Job Description
The director role entails significant leadership responsibilities in executing all business functions. The Kitchen Director is responsible for leading various aspects of our business, including but not limited to Operations, Culinary Operations, Food Safety, Food Quality, Development and Training, Standards Evaluation, Financial Return, Sales and Brand Growth, Talent Management, Labor and Food Cost Control, Team Development, Productivity, Stewardship, Guest Experience, and fostering a growth mindset and caring culture.
They are responsible for overseeing both the long-term business and team growth, as well as the day-to-day operations of a quick service restaurant. This involves ensuring adherence to company standards in all operational areas such as production, preparation, customer relations, restaurant maintenance, repair, and inventory management. Directors also handle team management, recruiting, financial accountability, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services to customers.
Directors primarily focus on leading and executing operational schedules and functions to meet food safety, quality, guest experience, and hospitality standards. They also act as champions in their respective functional areas, setting and surpassing goals in key performance areas while mentoring and coaching their teams to achieve top 20% chain performance, a food safety score of 1, and above-market average performance metrics.
Applicants for this position should possess excellent time management, communication, planning, execution, and problem-solving skills. Prior leadership experience is required, and the minimum age requirement is 21 years old. Directors work closely with the Chick-fil-A Operator, striving to exceed goals, develop teams, solve challenges, and provide critical advice and recommendations.
Key to the success of the business, the Kitchen Director position requires full-time commitment, flexibility in working hours to meet operational demands, and availability to work from open to close. Candidates should have at least five (5) years of leadership experience in business or a related industry, along with strong leadership, people management, and team-building skills. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish or others is preferred. While a high school diploma is preferred, a bachelor's degree or higher education is an asset.
Though this job posting is for a Director level position in the restaurant, we may determine that applicants would be a better fit for leadership roles including but not limited to Team Leader, Operations Manager, Directors or Executive Director.
