Chicago Public Schools CPS is Hiring a HR Support - Part-Time/Seasonal Position Near Chicago, IL

CPS employs over 4,000 substitute teachers and substitute paraprofessional positions per school year and is continuously looking to fill an average of 950 vacancies per day. The work of the Substitute Recruitment Team is to source, recruit, vet and hire qualified substitutes to meet the needs of our students and our schools. The Part-Time/Seasonal HR Support position will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
Create spreadsheets, flowcharts and graphs to provide needed data related to the hiring process
Investigate/research situation to answer emails from candidates
Screen applicants daily and move candidates through Taleo
Assist with the implementation of job fairs, interview events, special projects and provide support as needed
Assist with setting up interviews
File and maintain evaluation forms
Perform additional responsibilities as required towards the achievement of department or CPS objectives
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Part-Time/Seasonal HR Support candidate must possess the following qualifications: Type of Education Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
Minimum of High School Diploma and some college credit
Type of Experience and Number of Years:
Minimum of 1 year of previous recruiting experience
Experience working with applicant tracking and HRIS systems such as Peopesoft, preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times
Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and work independently while maintaining high levels of productivity and completing assigned tasks in a timely, efficient manner
Strong technology skills, including the ability to quickly learn CPS software systems
Must possess superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and communicate effectively through various mediums
Excellent customer service skills with an ability to empathize and be attentive to customers' needs and concerns
Willingness to work collaboratively with others to achieve district and/or department goals and objectives
Flexibility to adapt to changing timelines, including readiness to work extended hours when necessary
Conditions of Employment As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:
Be Fully Vaccinated or Submit to Weekly COVID-19 Testing - Employees are required to be fully vaccinated within 30 days of their hire date. Full vaccination is defined as at least two weeks after your second shot of a two-shot vaccination course, or at least two weeks after a one-shot vaccination course. Unvaccinated staff must submit to weekly testing.
