Chevron Products Company (a Chevron U.S.A. Inc. division) is Hiring a Senior Process Engineer Near Richmond, CA

Chevron is accepting online applications for the Senior Process Engineer position through June 10th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (PDT). The Senior Process Engineer is a critical role providing experienced engineering resources to help the Richmond Refinery meet it’s target of delivering significant gross margin improvement and contributing to lower carbon operations. As an experienced engineer, this role also provides developmental leadership through mentoring early career engineers and influential leadership through project design support, and turnaround planning and execution. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Provide process troubleshooting support, make technical recommendations, answer technical inquiries, improve process engineering tools, and develop process procedures. Provide support to and carry out studies (PHA, DMR, LOPA, RBI, DMI, Relief Systems, etc.) to improve plant safety, reliability, and economics. Help identify gaps between current performance and best-in-class and recommend opportunities for improvement. Conduct test runs to optimize process variables and evaluate plant performance. Provide technical recommendations and engineering support during planned unit turnarounds. This work may entail work at heights and confined space entry. Taking leadership role to develop detailed scope for complex items and mentor facility process engineers during detailed scope development Providing technical recommendations and engineering support for execution of planned unit turnarounds. Works in collaboration with specialists and engineers of other disciplines. Networks with subject matter experts in other facilities to leverage shared expertise. Provides requested technical advice and recommendations to project teams within the required time frames. Influence and improve work processes across the refinery. Individual schedule may require flexibility to respond to refinery upsets during off hours. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, preferably chemical engineering. 5 years of relevant Process Engineering experience supporting refinery operations or in process design. Preferred Qualifications: Have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following refinery process technologies: Distillation, Hydroprocessing/Hydrocracking, Hydrogen Manufacturing, Naphtha Reforming, Sulfur Recovery, FCC, Alkylation, Amine treating or Sour Water processing. 8 year of refinery process engineering experience Relocation Options: Relocation may be considered. International Considerations: Expatriate assignments will not be considered. Richmond Refinery has literally fueled Northern California for over 110 years. Many folks living in the Bay Area remark on the natural beauty of the surrounding areas, temperate year-round weather, and fabulous weekend trips. The Bay Area is home to some of California's greatest attractions. There are world class cultural centers (San Francisco, Los Angeles), scenic beaches (Monterrey, Santa Cruz, Marin), world renown epicurean centers (San Francisco, Napa, Berkeley), more than a million acres of protected land (National Parks: Yosemite, Point Reyes; State Parks and Regional Parks) and hiking and skiing in California's Sierra Nevada mountains only a few hours away. Richmond is also in proximity of two international Airports, providing options for longer distant travel. The surrounding areas of can provide a living arrangement for those who desire to live in a lively city environment or for those who prefer a small-town feel. The average temperature all year is in the mid-70’s with little to no humidity and limited rainfall in the winter months. Special Considerations: If relocating from a lower cost of living area, a Relocation Adjustment Allowance (RAA) may be included as part of standard benefits. Work schedules follow a hybrid model (combination on site and remote). This position is eligible to earn "compensatory time" in accordance with Manufacturing policy during exceptional work periods such as turnaround support and significant unplanned events. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
