Chevrolet of Naperville is Hiring an Automotive Apprentice Technician Full Time Near Naperville, IL

Job Summary:
Chevrolet of Naperville is seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Apprentice Technician to join our team full-time in Naperville, Illinois. This individual will work alongside experienced technicians to learn and develop essential skills to become a successful automotive technician. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for the auto industry, a desire to learn and grow, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This full time position will work 4 weekdays 8 a.m - 5 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m - 5 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits:
This full-time, salaried position with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $20 to $30 per hour, based on relevant job experience, training and certifications. In addition to the base compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) options.
Responsibilities:
  • Work under the guidance of experienced technicians to learn the skills required to perform automotive services and repairs
  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and more
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and identify vehicle issues
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of services and repairs performed
  • Communicate effectively with team members and service advisors
  • Continuously learn and develop skills to advance to a higher-level technician role
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical school training or equivalent experience in the automotive industry preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in the automotive industry
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use diagnostic equipment
  • Availability to work weekends and some evenings as needed
