Job Summary: Chevrolet of Naperville is seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Apprentice Technician to join our team full-time in Naperville, Illinois. This individual will work alongside experienced technicians to learn and develop essential skills to become a successful automotive technician. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for the auto industry, a desire to learn and grow, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This full time position will work 4 weekdays 8 a.m - 5 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m - 5 p.m. Compensation and Benefits: This full-time, salaried position with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $20 to $30 per hour, based on relevant job experience, training and certifications. In addition to the base compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) options. Responsibilities:
Work under the guidance of experienced technicians to learn the skills required to perform automotive services and repairs
Assist in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and more
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and identify vehicle issues
Keep accurate and detailed records of services and repairs performed
Communicate effectively with team members and service advisors
Continuously learn and develop skills to advance to a higher-level technician role
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Technical school training or equivalent experience in the automotive industry preferred
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in the automotive industry
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Basic computer skills and ability to use diagnostic equipment
Availability to work weekends and some evenings as needed
