Make a difference in the lives of school-aged children living with mental health concerns. Chestnut’s innovative school-based program embeds counselors in area schools. This full-time position will work at Douglas and Jefferson schools in Belleville, IL with students in grades K-8. Daytime hours.
Provide consumer-driven services identified in treatment/recovery/safety plan. Demonstrate skills in evidence-based practices such as TF-CBT, ACRA, CBITS, trauma informed care, and the developmental stages. Advocate for clients. Refer and link clients to community resources. Promote positive interactions within Chestnut and with the community and school personnel. Attend meetings and consumer staffings. Support and back up other team members as necessary.
Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.
Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field with at least 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience. Valid driver’s license, private auto insurance, and must be insurable. Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and an electronic medical record.
