Chester County of Pennsylvania is Hiring a Facilities Systems Assistant Near West Chester, PA

Summary

The Chester County Facilities department is seeking a Facilities Systems Assistant who will be responsible for maintaining and providing support to the systems and applications relating to the Facilities department. This position is eligible for telework after a 6-month training period.
The Facilities Systems Assistantis responsible for maintaining and providing support to the systems and applications relating to the department’s management of data recording systems.

Essential Duties

  • Configure and maintain security settings; and monitor alarms, alerts, event logs and error messages for Patrol Buttons, Card readers, Panels, Garage gates, Doors, Overhead Garage Doors, Locks, Panic Buttons, Glass Breaks, CMMS system, and any other facilities systems, as required.
  • Configure, maintain, and facilitate Prowatch software to operate efficiently and to address time zones, holiday schedules, county closings, events, triggers, masking, and patrol tour scanning.
  • Troubleshoot security hardware malfunctions and coordinate all efforts with Security vendor to resolve issues.
  • Install and replace access control hardware such as card readers, reader, and controller boards.
  • Configure security permission levels; assign and maintain security permissions of application accounts (user access), system access levels (file, folder, function, feature, data), ID badges/FOB clearance codes and companies, etc.
  • Ensure accuracy of security ID badge records for termination, loss, void, and deleted accounts.
  • Coordinate and participate in upgrades, patches, and new releases.
  • Design and develop reports, queries, templates, and forms.
  • Coordinate and participate in the resolution of system malfunctions with the appropriate vendor.
  • Provide backup to the Facilities Systems Supervisor, as needed.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, and special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Minimum of three years of general office experience
  • Strong customer service skills dealing with the general public.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to learn software programs and use software, such as Pro Watch, Maximo, Qware, and Traka.
  • Ability to learn to install / replace access control hardware.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (clear and accurate).
  • Accurate and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Professional ethics and an ability to maintain and handle confidential information.
  • Ability to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university in business management, systems administration or related field. Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable
  • Advanced MS Outlook skills.
  • Advanced organization and coordination skills.
  • Ability to multi-task. With a flexible work schedule to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to establish priorities (remain focused on daily operations).
  • General knowledge and understanding of County of Chester policies and procedures.

Relevant background checks, clearances, physicals, drug tests, and any other assessments or evaluations will be conducted after an offer of employment is given per County policy.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:

  • Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and OutLook skills
  • Intermediate Internet skills (for research purposes)
  • System configuration skills.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, twist, or rotate at the waist, lift or carry items, and talk or hear. Occasionally, the employee will need to bend at the waist or work with an uncommon level of noise. On rare occasions, the employee will need to reach above shoulders; kneel, stoop, squat, or crouch; and drive a vehicle.
