The Chester County Intermediate Unit has a vacancy for a Secondary School Counselor. This position is in our Non-Public School Services program and the successful candidate will be located at Bishop Shanahan High School located in Downingtown, PA.

Qualifications:
Must hold a valid PA Certification in Secondary School Counseling PK-12
Masters in School Counseling required
Minimum 5 years School Counselor experience required
Experience and knowledge in public or non-public education preferred
Current police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required
Duties & Responsibilities:
Counsel groups or individual students through the development of educational and career plans.
Collaborate with teachers, staff and parents regarding meeting the developmental needs of students and seek community resources when necessary.
Conduct counseling activities in the classroom in conjunction with administration and teachers.
Participate in Instructional Support Team (IST).
Respond to crisis situations when appropriate.
Salary and Schedule 2021-2022 School Year:
$52,331 to $84,616 - Educational Specialist I
$54,614 to $88,005 - Educational Specialist II
$58,099 to $96,103 - Master's Degree
$60,622 to $99,887 - Master's 15
$61,943 - $101,698 - Masters 30
