Within the scope of practice, the respiratory therapist will assess patients and develop treatment plans in conjunction with the provider to address specific patient needs. Provide emergency care including assisting with or performing intubations, attending rapid responses/codes, attending C-sections and responding to traumas. In the critical care setting, you will attend multidisciplinary rounds, initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, perform arterial sampling including arterial puncture and arterial lines, conduct overnight oximetry studies, and assist with bronchoscopies. In the outpatient setting, you will be trained to perform pulmonary function testing and rotate through the lab as needed.
