Manages a team of clinicians providing psychosocial assessment, counseling, and treatment to patients. Supervises assigned personnel. Selects, counsels, prepares performance evaluations, and terminates according to policy. Assists with the development, design, and training of mental health programs and program administration. Provides leadership to the staff on all day-to-day issues/concerns; ability to provide supervision to clinicians as they pursue licensure. Provides complete psychosocial assessments of patients and families including but not limited to: abilities, aptitudes, interests and motivation, psychological aspects of physical illnesses, accidents, injuries or disabilities and substance abuse/dependencies. Evaluates, diagnoses and provides treatment for patients within areas such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance-use disorders, aggressive behavior, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, eating disorders, and developmental disorders. Develop treatment plans that reflect medical necessity, client strengths, symptoms and functional impairment and the specific issues related to treating substance-use disorder/Opioid Use Disorder. Makes appropriate referrals to community-based programs using the ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria. With other members of the team, it ensures that there is a smooth transition of care to community treatment resources.
Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Counseling/Therapy, Social Work or Addictions Counseling from an accredited institution of higher education, including an internship meeting professional standards. Must be able to demonstrate that he or she has provided psychological services, on an inpatient, outpatient or consultative basis in the past 12 months. Previous leadership experience preferred. Current NH license or ability to pursue a license as an MLADC by the NH Board of Mental Health Practice required. Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC) in New Hampshire.
