About Us:

Chesapeake Treatment Center, a 29-bed residential treatment center for adolescent and young adult males located in Parkville has openings for Full Time School Support staff. The 12 month school program serves adolescents ages 12 through 21 who are emotionally handicapped and who are not yet able to function in less restrictive school settings.

PRN staff work on an “as needed” basis.

School Support Staff Responsibilities:

Ensure that patients are prepared and ready to participate in the school day.

Transport patients to and from school as well as off grounds in a safe manner.

Monitor and account for all patients assigned to his or her area.

Provide effective instruction/ instructional support for patients and classroom instructors.

Participate in school program to support the patient learning opportunities.

Intervene effectively to minimize behavior which could result in safety or treatment concerns.

Maintain a professional manner with school staff as well as with patients.

Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Requirements

· High School Diploma

· 1 year of experience in a school setting as an IEP Aide or Teachers Assistant

· 1 year of experience working with adolescents

· Experience in residential treatment

· Driver's License
