Chesapeake Smiles is Hiring a Certified Dental Assistant Near Odenton, MD

We are seeking a reliable, skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. If you have a passion for dentistry and enjoy working in a happy and supportive environment, we encourage you to apply. The position is Mon-Thursday 9-5 and Friday 9-3.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the dentist during dental procedures

- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient care

- Take and develop dental X-rays

- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history

- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures

- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical records system (Epic)

- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent training

- Proficiency in medical terminology and dental procedures

- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment

- Familiarity with electronic medical records

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
