Responsibility:

The responsibility of this position is to participate in the daily operational logistics, warehousing, inventory control, and property management.

Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to participate in the daily execution of Custodial Environmental Services (CES) responsibilities.

All staff members at Cherry Street perform their job duties in the context of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is our express purpose to minister to individuals (i.e.,staff, volunteers, donors, guests) through the practical discipleship steps of eliminating poverties of spirit, soul, and body.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all organizational inventory
  • Complete community and organizational pickups and deliveries
  • Operate, maintain, and train all CSMM vehicles and equipment (Mini-Bus, box-truck, cargo van, scissor lift, forklift, pallet jacks, floor buffers, plow trucks, mowers, snow blowers, etc.)
  • Lead all CSMM property snow removal (will require schedule flexibility during snow fall)
  • Lead on-going preventative maintenance of CSMM property
  • Complete and coordinate CSMM event set-up and tear-down
  • Assist in keeping all safety systems up to date
  • Assist Janitorial Environmental Services (JES) Techs in the daily upkeep of all CSMM properties
  • Assist in the transport of guests to and from shelters
  • Work in coordination with Operations Managers and Volunteers Coordinator to plan and lead EVS volunteer projects
  • Assist the Maintenance team with daily duties as assigned
  • Participate in the CES on-call system and after-hours emergencies when required

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Building Operations experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have a basic understanding of building janitorial.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be comfortable operating, or learning to operate, aerial lifts, forklift, 14 Passenger Mini-Bus, Box Truck, floor buffer, and other vehicles/equipment needed in order to complete work.
  • Valid drivers license required, No CDL required.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Must have basic knowledge of janitorial materials and processes in order to complete work to the set standards of the ministry and in order to meet local building codes.

Licenses, Certificates, and Other Requirements

  • Will need to pass forklift certification test within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Will need to pass CSMM Mini-Bus training within the first 90 days of employment.

Lifting Requirements
