SUPERVISOR:
Manager or designee. 

SUMMARY:
Works alone, or with other crew members on all facets of general maintenance; operates various pieces of machinery; work may be assigned in accordance to crew member's strongest work background.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Completes all playground repairs and preventative maintenance work orders. Orders parts and repairs as needed to maintain safe playgrounds. Performs various maintenance repairs - interior and exterior as directed. Maintains district equipment (i.e. concrete saws and mixer, core drill, air compressor, generators and jackhammer). Maintains District vehicles, tools, equipment and stock of supplies. Repairs fencing, backstops, tie walls, signs and applies touch-up paint as directed. Maintains daily work log to include work orders, accidents, investigations, etc. [Daily, 60%]
• Assists in snow removal duties as established. [Monthly, 3%]
• Performs playground and outdoor basketball court inspection on a periodic basis. [Monthly, 25%]
• Assists risk management in inspecting playground equipment related to accidents. [Weekly, 5%]
• Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 7%]

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years in general maintenance.
• Knowledge of paint and wood sealers and their applications.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and/or shifts.
• Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: 

• Colorado driver’s license.

• Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL)

• National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Good motor skills - hand tools and machinery used daily.
• Lifting up to fifty (50) lbs. - daily moving of equipment and materials.
• Pushing and pulling.
• Repetitive motion/bending.
• Climb stairs, ladders, and vehicles.
• Squatting.
• Overhead work.
• Work at various heights.
