JOB SUMMARYAssist the Director of Equity, Culture, and Community Engagement in building the knowledge, skill, will, and capacity of our system to create and sustain equitable experiences for all students. Collaborate with building administrators, school equity teams, district departments, and students to deliver ongoing professional development opportunities that promote racial consciousness, cultural humility, equity mindedness, and an inclusive education experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. They do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only and are subject to flexibility dependent on organizational needs.

  • Assist department Directors with establishing and maintaining meaningful partnerships that provide access and voice to all community constituents, especially those historically underrepresented. [Daily, 25%]
  • Oversee and support equity teams in deepening their own knowledge, skill, will, and capacity to lead equity conversations in buildings. Assist administrators and equity teams with planning site-based professional development, identifying opportunity gaps, and recommending possible solutions to address such gaps. [Daily, 20%]
  • Manage, plan, and facilitate Beyond Diversity, Virtual Courageous Conversations, and district racial equity and cultural immersion courses. Provide ongoing training opportunities, both in-person and online, for district personnel to increase their racial equity knowledge, skill, will, and capacity. Create, monitor, and oversee Cultural Immersion courses. [Daily, 15%]
  • Partner with the Office of Performance Improvement in managing professional learning opportunities related to highly effective instruction in the blended learning and instructional technology arena for schools. [Daily, 10%]
  • Collaborate and support the Instructional Coaches, Instructional Coordinators, and site coordinators to align and address specific learning goals and district initiatives. Work in collaboration with all District departments to support ongoing district initiatives. [Daily, 10%]
  • Assist school sites in creating and maintaining effective parent partnerships. [Daily, 5%]
  • Assist the Director of Equity, Culture, and Community Engagement with facilitating District P.A.S.S. Committee and other parent engagement groups and with student engagement efforts by creating and sustaining student voice spaces. [Daily, 5%]
  • Coordinate components embedded within the Title VI Formula Grant. [Daily, 5%]
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum amounts of formal education, professional work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that must be met for a candidate to be considered for a position

  • Master's degree in Education Administration, Curriculum Leadership, or similar field
  • Experience leading adult learning: PLCs, staff development, coaching and mentoring, etc.
  • Experience leading conversations about race, racial equity, equitable learning environments, and culture in education.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of racial consciousness development, racial identity development, culturally responsive pedagogy, critical race theory, and ladder of inference.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the implications of race, culture, socio-economic status, etc. in education and possess the ability to apply that understanding to create equitable learning environments.

  • Ability to effectively motivate and supervise people.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
  • Ability to promote and follow the Board of Education policies, District policies, and building and department procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire

MINIMUM CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: The minimum certifications and licenses that must be met, valid, and unexpired for a candidate to be considered for a position

  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license
  • Colorado driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Any job-related formal education, professional work experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications, licenses, and other criteria that are inessential and in addition to the minimum qualifications, certifications, and licenses

  • Five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Experience and leadership in any of the following: Pacific Educational Group’s Beyond Diversity, Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, Critical Race Theory, Latino Critical Race Theory, Cognitive Coaching, adult professional learning, and mentoring
  • Colorado Administrator/Principal license

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: The physical exertion, cognitive capacities, and work environments required to perform a position’s duties and responsibilities

  • Light work strength level (lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds)
