Researcher II

This position requires an active USAccess clearance.

The Researcher II position entails assisting the Client's project staff in various field and office tasks related to water-quality sampling and data collection. This role requires flexibility for short-notice field trips, weekdays availability, and adherence to prescribed protocols and safety regulations. The successful candidate will contribute to trip preparation, field and office work, and post-trip activities, ensuring timely completion of all assigned tasks.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Researcher II: $22.75/hour

Pay commensurate with experience.

Researcher II Responsibilities Include:

• Completing all scheduled assisted field work within prescribed protocols and safety requirements.
• Operating US Government vehicles, including watercraft, in accordance with policies and safety regulations.
• Cleaning and preparing field equipment post-sampling for subsequent trips.
• Timely completion of data entry within 2 weeks of sample collection.
• Conducting office data compilation, including paperwork, computer work, and organizing scientific data under supervision.
• Assisting higher-ranked project staff as directed and promptly notifying the government liaison of any encountered problems during field tasks.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Researcher II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Demonstrated experience with laboratory protocols.
• Knowledge of basic water-quality parameters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Accurate record-keeping of field data on prescribed forms.
• Effective communication and collaboration with technical and scientific staff.
• Ability to enter and retrieve data from computer systems.
• Capability to work independently and communicate effectively, both written and orally, with project staff.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
