Chelsea Piers Fitness is looking for ambassadors of health and fitness who are highly qualified, career oriented, and passionate to join our hospitality team. The Lifeguard should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and may be called upon to handle various aspects of pool operations and customer service.

**The Role:**

The responsibilities and duties described here are representative of those an employee must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned.

**Primary Responsibilities**

* Actively supervise the safety of both adults and children in 6-lane 25-yard pool and jacuzzi

* Ensure the safety of members using the Chelsea Piers Fitness aquatics facilities

* Provide first aid in emergency situations

* Assist in ensuring compliance with NYC Department of Health aquatic regulations

* Assist in maintaining aquatic area for a clean and safe facility

* Conduct hourly testing on water quality and maintain activity reports while on shift

* Maintain positive relations and rapport with members

* Attend regular scheduled staff meetings and service training

* Present professional appearance and attitude at all times

* Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

**Post COVID-19 Responsibilities**

* Ensure members, fellow employees, vendors and visitors adhere to new guidelines in Chelsea Piers Social Responsibility Agreement

* Maintain new operations protocols to ensure a safe environment

* Attend all team meetings and training workshops

Qualifications **Qualifications:**

* **COVID-19 Vaccination Required**

* Strong customer service skills (2 years preferred)

* Strong organization skills and attention to detail

* Must hold current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid (required)

* Previous lifeguard experience (1 year required)

**Work Schedule:**

* Part-time position, paid through bi-weekly payroll (12-24 hours expected per week).

* Must have the flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule including weekend, holiday and early morning/midday/late evening weekday availability.
