The Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Health Center is part of Chelsea Jewish Lifecare, a non-profit, mission driven organization which has been providing innovative care to the elderly and disabled in Massachusetts for over 100 years! Nestled in our beautiful campus located in Peabody, MA, The Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Health Center is a leader in adult day health services where we provide a safe and secure program for individuals who need additional assistance and companionship during the day. This is a terrific option for seniors and their families since it allows adults to get the support they need from our outstanding team of professionals who go above-and-beyond to care for our participants.

This position will be 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, Schedule is Flexible.

Responsibilities:

• Lead activity programming for a diverse population while keeping participants engaged.
• Assist the Activity Director in developing and coordinating a successful activities program.
• Provide appropriate activity programs that meet the physical, social, cultural, spiritual, emotional and recreational needs and interests of each participant.
• Drive participants on scheduled community outings in a safe manner using the Day Center vehicle.
• Assist in meeting participant's other needs, e.g. toileting, transfers, meal service.
• Other duties/projects as assigned by the Activity Director.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods.
• Ability to push, pull objects and lift/carry up to 20 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds or more with assistance on occasion.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, the general public and other staff members.

If hired, you must be able to provide a recent physical and required immunizations including Covid-19.
