Description: Directly supervise and coordinate activities of sales, transportation, and material moving for team members.


Summary
: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers in delivery or sales distribution by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assign duties to workers and schedule break periods, work hours, and vacations.
  • Trains workers in policies, procedures, and job duties.
  • Requests merchandise, supplies, and equipment based on needs through the Area Sales Manager.
  • Records and reviews delivery of product and merchandise to compare records with product/merchandise ordered for discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels. Inspects product/merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed.
  • Listens to customer concerns, examines returned products/merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations.
  • Assists sales workers in completing difficult sales, placing displays or coolers, and performing resets.
  • Ensure all deliveries are properly worked by the team by scheduling routine visits to customer locations and by following up on customer complaints.
  • Complete routes assigned to the team should a team member be unable to perform his/her duties due to illness, vacation, funeral, or another absence.
  • Ensures all deliveries are properly worked and stocked, displays set, promotions executed, back stock broken down and placed in proper areas in an organized fashion, shells/flats picked up and recorded, damaged or out of date picked up, recorded, and properly discarded, and any other issues related to the delivery, customer service, sales, and employment of this team.
  • Communicates issues, problems, or opportunities with the sales and delivery team as well as management.
  • Forecasts sales based on previous sale reports and upcoming promotions/sales to ensure accuracy for our customers and minimize pallet pick-ups.
  • Ensures the safety of all employees by reporting and investigating all safety concerns and/or violations.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures set forth by management.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years of route sales experience, preferably conventional route experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Microsoft Word software, Paycom HRIS, and Encompass sales and accounting software.


Certificates and Licenses:

Class A/B CDL License meeting acceptable criteria.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the assigned distribution territory. Carries out supervisory responsibilities per the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
