The DSH Family caseworker strives to meet overall family goals and provide support to program families that will assist in rehousing. Caseworks assist families to identify safe, affordable permanent housing that meets the family’s unique needs (e.g., size, lead compliance, geographic restrictions, and accessibility accommodations)
Caseworkers develop partnership with families monthly Rehousing Plans that identify goals and tasks that will facilitate housing access as rapidly as possible. Link families with publicly-funded rehousing benefits (e.g., HomeBASE, Relocation) and other forms of rental assistance in order to supplement earnings, savings, and other forms of income. They interacts with family following the Motivational Interviewing model in order to assess needs, provide information, discuss problems, set limits, and encourage the family’s growth and development
All positions require a background screening including a CORI and motor vehicle record check, as well as a reliable vehicle for work use.
