What will a Program Development Manager do?

  • Through words and actions support Chattanooga Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values; furthermore, actions and decisions will align with organizational guiding principles.
  • Maintain agency, employee, and participants confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality may be cause for termination.
  • Program Design and Planning:
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, HR, and frontline staff, to assess the needs and preferences of existing employees and design a comprehensive program that integrates supportive services and case management.
    • Develop program goals, objectives, activities, and timelines, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and strategic priorities.
    • Design program components such as coaching, mentoring, skills development workshops, financial literacy training, and access to community resources.
  • Partnership Development:
    • Build and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations, social service agencies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to enhance the range and quality of services available to program participants.
    • Negotiate partnerships and service agreements, outlining roles, responsibilities, and expectations for collaboration.
  • Staff Training and Capacity Building:
    • Provide training and professional development opportunities for program staff and frontline managers to enhance their skills in providing supportive services and case management.
    • Foster a culture of empathy, respect, and inclusion among staff, emphasizing the importance of person-centered care and holistic support.
  • Program Implementation and Management:
    • Oversee the successful implementation of the program, including recruitment and enrollment of participants, delivery of services, and monitoring of progress and outcomes.
    • Ensure that program activities are delivered with fidelity to the program model and that participant needs are met effectively and efficiently.
    • Monitor program budget and expenditures, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Data Collection and Evaluation:
    • Develop data collection tools and systems to track program participation, outcomes, and impact.
    • Collect and analyze data regularly to assess program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and inform decision-making and reporting to stakeholders.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations on program progress and outcomes for senior leadership, funders, and other community stakeholders.
  • Needs to be able to work flexible hours to accommodate hours of operation.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in program development, case management, or social services, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
  • Strong understanding of supportive services, case management principles, and holistic wellness approaches.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals facing barriers to employment and economic stability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities, with experience in supervising staff, managing projects, and achieving results.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in social services and case management.
  • Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Must have a good driving record with a valid driver’s license, insurance, and the ability to travel frequently.
