Chatham Glen Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is Hiring a Housekeeper/Laundry aide Charter School Eligible Near The Villages, FL

Brand-New Skilled Nursing Facility (Nursing Home/Short-Term Rehab Center) located on Highway 42 in The Villages seeking caring, dependable housekeepers.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing the facility. Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:

· Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment

· Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for:

· Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs

· Confidentiality of all data including resident, employee and operations data

· Quality Improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements

· Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal discriminatory behavior

· Supports and participates in common teamwork:

· Cooperates and works together with all co-workers

· Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations

· Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns

· Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assembles materials and supplies from the supply room and transports them to the work area.

· Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.

· Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, blinds, floors, furniture in an orderly fashion.

· Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.

· Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.

· Gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags.

· Clean spills or accidents in any areas as they occur.

· Resident apartments: clean kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room.

· Disinfects mattresses, dusts bed frames and nightstands.

· Routinely checks cleaning list for possible changes in assignment.

· Keep work areas free of hazardous conditions, spills, excess carts, baskets, supplies, equipment, etc.

· Follows all safety procedures and guidelines as outlined by facility and the Director of Environmental Services.

· Maintain dignity and respect for residents’ personal and property rights.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

None

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
