Charter School Business Management is Hiring an IT Manager Near New York, NY

We are seeking candidates in DE, FL, IL, MD, NC, NJ, NY, PA, SC, TX, VA

The IT Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of information technology (IT) services and support for an organization with a remote workforce. They evaluate new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services, test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. The IT manager oversees the management of a Managed Service Provider (MSP) vendor to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services aligned with the organization's needs and objectives, while also providing technical assistance and improving staff efficiency through technology.

Although the scope of work may vary at times, the IT Manager will be responsible for the team’s day-to-day IT Management, IT Vendor Management, and IT Support and Collaboration activities as well as other tasks and duties outlined below, and additional duties that may arise as the role and department evolve.

IT Management

  1. Configure, deploy and provide ongoing support for internal systems.
  2. Ensure the consistent maintenance of fully cloud-based systems
  3. Support with IT onboarding and offboarding of teammates within established timelines
  4. Oversee and implement network and data security measures.
  5. Manage IT inventory, leases, licenses, and subscriptions effectively
  6. Maintain and optimize telecommunication and web systems.
  7. Assess existing & new hardware and software tools for compatibility and efficiencies.
  8. Stay abreast of emerging technologies relevant to the organization's needs.

Vendor Management

  1. Effectively manage the relationship with a Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services
  2. Manage day-to-day vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective technology acquisitions and oversee service agreements.
  3. Consult on the negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors.
  4. Monitor vendor performance and adherence to service level agreements.
  5. Coordinate with internal teams to assess and address vendor performance.
  6. Identify cost-saving and efficiency improvement opportunities through vendor management.

IT Support and Coordination

  1. Act as the liaison between the team and the MSP vendor to address and escalate team member needs.
    • Coordinate with MSP vendor to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  2. Establish procedures to maintain team software's readiness, quality, and accuracy.
  3. Provide guidance and training to staff on software usage and best practices.
  4. Provide internal IT support, including security and software updates.
  5. Expand the documentation library and develop an internal knowledge base for teammates that clearly outlines workflows, metrics, and best practices.

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s or technical degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent skill gained through experience
  2. At least 5 years of experience in IT management supporting remote teams in finance, accounting, or consulting services
  3. At least 3 years of experience managing and implementing organizational IT projects
  4. Experience working with managed service providers (MSP), governing contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance KPIs.
  5. At least 2 years of experience in systems (hardware and software) support.

You Should Know/Have Experience With:

  1. HTML, MySQL, AWS (server and user access), PHP, CSS, and JavaScript.
  2. User management and SAS administration (Google Suite, Zoom, UniVerse, etc.).
  3. VPN networks, firewalls, encryption, and other network security technologies.
  4. Familiarity with development and project management tools and resources.
  5. OKTA Single Sign-On administration portal
  6. Microsoft 365 administration center and TEAMS platform
  7. Dropbox, SharePoint, and other file-sharing platforms
  8. Communication software: Microsoft Teams, Slack
  9. Spreadsheet software: Excel, Google Sheets
  10. Project management software: Monday, Microsoft Project, Zoho Projects
