Charlotte Engineering Early College is Hiring a Facilitator, Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) EOY (24-25) Near Charlotte, NC

JOB GOAL

The MTSS Facilitator will support all school efforts to access and use data to inform school progress toward targeted district and state priorities and annual milestones. School-based MTSS Facilitators work directly with the district’s MTSS team & Data Use for School Improvement Team, school level leadership, teachers, and student services staff to establish and/or strengthen school-wide systems, structures and processes. Additionally, school-based MTSS Facilitators provide school-wide data monitoring of targeted district indicators to support school progress and annual milestone attainment, in support of the district’s goals and targets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Oversees systems and processes for universal screening and administration of diagnostic assessments.
  2. Ensures that students identified as needing supplemental or intensive supports receive the identified standard treatment protocol interventions in the current intervention cycle.
  3. Develops and supports school-wide processes for student progress monitoring to gauge student responses to interventions at regular intervals.
  4. Reports the status of student screening rates, intervention provision rates, and student improvement rates, as part of the provision of supplemental and intensive supports on a quarterly basis or more frequently to the principal and school MTSS leadership team.
  5. Creates and monitors processes for consistent and timely data entry into district platforms to support progress monitoring of student response to interventions.
  6. Prepares reports quarterly or more often on key district indicators aligned to the district’s Strategic Plan for principal and MTSS Leadership Team use to support school and district continuous improvement.
  7. Attends required district professional development on data use and MTSS implementation;
  8. Collaborates with school leaders in identifying school improvement plan goals in alignment with school data and key district indicators aligned with the district Strategic Plan.
  9. Accesses and uses key reports in the Navigator Portal and other platforms to prepare said regular reports to support continuous improvement efforts.
  10. Provides professional development and coaching on using data to drive decisions.
  11. Regularly attends school-based professional learning community meetings to support teachers and student services professionals with the use of student data to inform instructional moves, schoolwide practice shifts, and targeted intervention decisions.
  12. Provides support to teachers on data-informed instructional planning with a focus on analyzing data and identifying action steps to improve student learning outcomes.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & abilities

  • Strong knowledge and experience with an MTSS framework
  • Knowledge of “whole child” philosophy of service delivery and problem solving Ability to work collaboratively as part of a large team
  • Knowledgeable of literacy and math foundational skills, and foundational theories of behavior
  • Knowledge of classroom formative and benchmark/interim assessments, diagnostic assessments, and universal screening
  • Demonstrated understanding of literacy, math, and behavior progress monitoring
  • Knowledge of best practices and strategies related to behavior, literacy, and math
  • Knowledge of and expertise in the use of Google Drive and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt well to change and to lead through change
  • Ability to coach/facilitate school teams to obtain incremental change within a continuous improvement model
  • Able to influence the decision-making of school leaders and staff
  • Must show an appreciation of diversity by recognizing and respecting the worth and dignity of all students, staff and families recognizing their individual social, cultural and economic differences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education, Training & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education
  • 3-5 years experience in a K-12 Educational Setting
  • One year in a role associated with training, professional development or conducting presentations

OR

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

  • Active NC teaching license in education, administration or student services, or eligible for NC DPI licensure

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education
  • Three years experience in a role associated with training, professional development or conducting presentations
