Charleston County Aviation Authority is Hiring a Grounds Maintenance Technician (FT) Near Charleston, SC
- Maintain the grounds, roadways and some building maintenance at the CCAA locations: Mows, edges grass, trims shrubs and bushes, cleans up clippings, cuts tree limbs and clears fence lines; sprays pesticides and herbicides and pulls weeds; and may perform snow removal and plowing depending on weather conditions.
- Maintains roadways, parking decks, and parking areas on airport properties: fills potholes and ruts with concrete and asphalt; locates and removes, and disposes of debris and dead animals on roadways; and sprays and cleans areas using a pressure washer.
- Keeps maintenance vehicles clean and neat; provides escort service to others on airport grounds as required; assists in moving furniture and providing event setting up for CCAA events and activities; assists the maintenance department with stocking supplies and may provide painting of property as required.
- Operates and maintains various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments: operates and maintains lawnmowers, seedeaters, chainsaws, edges, rakes, shoves, concrete packer, pressure washers, tree limbers, snow removal equipment and other power or motorized equipment.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Requires the level of formal education typically acquired by high school graduation or acquisition of a GED.
- Requires little vocational experience.
- Involves knowledge and comprehension of techniques, information, methods, and procedures which are related to specific jobs and which can be acquired from some combination of vocational training, apprentice training, on the job training, or essential experience in lower level jobs during a period of up to 6 months.
- Job duties can be learned from simple multiple-step instructions or demonstrations of moderate repetition.
