Position Descriptio
Charles R. Drew Charter School seeks a part-time development associate to provide administrative and communications support to the Office of Strategic Partnerships & Development with particular emphasis on the Drew Opportunity Fund (DOF) and management of the department’s database. This position reports directly to the Director of the Office of Strategic Partnerships and Development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Fund Development
  • Oversee the school’s $100,000 annual campaign, the Drew Opportunity Fund
  • Process donations and prepare acknowledgment letters
  • Manage monthly renewals and matching gift communications
  • Prepare updates for various stakeholders (Board of Directors, Director of SPD, donors, etc.)
  • Reconcile donations, and expenses, with the Finance Department monthly
  • Coordinate the production and communication of quarterly emails, social media posts, and mid-year and final Impact reports
  • Handle all administrative details pertaining to the DOF disbursement committee
Database Management
  • Responsible for all data entry including gifts, contacts, account coding, and communications
  • Manage and implement online forms
  • Create new funds, campaigns, and approaches and update them as needed
  • Generate staff user guides and instruction
Leadership Reports
  • Draft department report for Finance and Audit Committee and Board of Directors meetings
  • Prepare monthly Drew Board Giving Report
  • Craft Annual Revenue and Enhancement Report
Partnership Support
  • Spearhead the Charlie Yates Golf Course annual use of course agreement
  • Receive and submit partner invoices for payments (CYGC, YMCA)
  • Assist with Partnership events
  • Draft Partners quarterly newsletter
Qualifications
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of five years experience in resource development and fundraising
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Database management experience – eTapestry preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated collaborator
Compensation
  • $35,000 (maximum 29 hours per week)
  • This position is not benefits eligible.
