charity: water is Hiring a Remote Senior Accountant (Remote)

Main areas of focus: Financial systems administration, Financial compliance, Accounting operations
Location: Remote - U.S. only.
Eligibility: charity: water is fully remote and hires from all 50 U.S. states. At this time, we are only considering candidates who are eligible to work in the United States without the need of company sponsorship now or in the future.
JOB HIGHLIGHT
You'll use your professional accounting skills, good judgment, financial acumen, and attention to detail to reinforce the integrity of our accounting policies, operations, and compliance practices.
JOB SUMMARY
As the Senior Accountant, you're dedicated to ensuring that every 'i' is dotted and 't' is crossed and every column of numbers adds up. Reporting to the Controller, you'll work closely with the accounting team to ensure our organization's books are kept up-to-date, accurate, and comply with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...
*Executing a timely month close by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reports with a focus on payroll, accruals, credit card reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
*Assisting the Accounting Manager in payment processor reconciliations, revenue reclasses, and ensuring our 100% model is maintained
*Participating in the review of invoices, expense reports, and credit card expenses
*Coaching employees on how to navigate and master the expenditure system and process along with the Accounting Associate
*Collaborating with Strategic Finance to support operating expenditure accuracy and alignment with budget
*Acting as system administrator for Concur, our expense management tool
*Providing support for compliance matters such as the annual audit and the 990 tax return
*Assisting the department in the creation of new processes as the organization continues to evolve and grow
*Supporting the Accounting Manager and Controller with special projects, general ledger implementation, and ad hoc analyses
YOU MUST HAVE...
*A degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
*3-4 years of accounting experience
*Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
*Superior problem-solving and analysis skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
*Strong attention to detail - you care about the "little things" and make sure they get completed on time and in a professional manner
*Demonstrated experience learning and using financial, ERP, and other administrative systems / technologies
*Experience with expense management platforms such as Concur and customer management systems such as Salesforce
IT'S AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU HAVE...
*Public Accounting experience
*Current CPA designation or equivalent
*Experience using NetSuite, or similar ERP systems

And you know to follow up to make sure everyone's on the same page.
