The focus of Rotating Equipment Specialist will focus on improving the reliability of Critical Rotating Equipment by documenting and implementing our Asset Management Strategies, responding to exceptions, improving bad actor equipment performance, scoping for Turnarounds and other major maintenance work, maintaining the asset register, critical equipment BoMs, implementing improvement plans, and proactive monitoring. The Specialist will also support Maintenance by working with the Discipline Coordinator to develop scope when more complex repairs are needed and providing quality assurance as needed.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø The Rotating Equipment Specialist will be assigned a coverage area and may be asked to backfill for the other Specialists during vacation/training. Depending on the priority of activities, some weekend coverage may be necessary.
Ø Improvements in Critical equipment reliability, operability, and affordability are expected through mitigating chronic equipment issues and the development of long-term care strategies for critical equipment. The Specialist will work very closely with the Sr. Rotating Equipment Engineers, and Maintenance Discipline Coordinators for their assigned area. Specific job accountabilities and responsibilities include:
· Develop BOM's for critical equipment and ensure parts are available.
· Improving MTBR of critical rotating equipment,
· Identifying and recommending performance & reliability improvements for critical rotating equipment,
· Evaluating the health of problem equipment and recommendations to continue running or to shut down,
· Ability to use SAP to review work orders, understand critical inventory and work with IM to maintain Bills of Materials
· Updating rotating equipment scorecard metric as assigned
· Maintaining equipment repair histories and documentation in wIMS
· Proactive Technical Monitoring - Review and Analyze Vibration, Oil Analysis results and RCM Round exceptions for Critical Equipment.
Ø Rotating Equipment Specialists may be required to provide assurance during unit turnarounds. This may include support to their specific unit and support to other units as required.

v To successfully perform this job, the following competencies are required (either to have or will develop):
v Passion for continuous improvement.
v 1st Class Machinist Level.
v Minimum 5 years of Refinery or Chemical Plant Rotating Equipment experience.
v Condition Monitoring experience (i.e., data analysis, vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, etc.).
v Proven ability to perform troubleshooting and performance testing on various types of rotating equipment.
v Candidate shall be proficient in SAP, word processing and the Pemex Deer Park computer system.
v The candidate shall have a working knowledge of the Machinery Repair Standards.
v The candidate shall have a working knowledge of ANSI / API pumps, mechanical seals & seal flush plans, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, gearboxes, steam turbines and fans.
v The successful candidate must be a self-starter and an independent worker capable of integrating with a team environment.
v The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
